EgyptAir Flight 804 (MS804) was an A320 international passenger plane enroute from CDG to CAI that went missing over the Mediterranean Sea on 19 May 2016 at 00:45 GMT. On board: 56 passengers, 7 aircrew and 3 security personnel. Three of the passengers were reported to be children, including two infants. According to EgyptAir, the Captain had 6,275 hours of flying experience, including 2,101 hours on the A320, while the FO had 2,766 hours. All are presumed dead. Aircraft wreckage has been found near the Greek island of Karpathos. According to Greek military radar data, Flight 804 veered off course shortly after entering the Egyptian Flight Information Region (FIR). At an altitude of 11,000 metres (37,000 feet), the aircraft made a 90-degree left turn, followed by a full 360-degree circle right turn and then began to descend. Radar contact was lost at an altitude of about 3,000 m (10,000 ft). What happened to EgyptAir Flight 804? Let the amateur speculation commence. |
