My recruiter is telling me that this is the best option, saying that it is faster than Osaka (which takes at least 3 days).
Has anyone done this or does anyone have any links or info.
I must say I am finding it hard to pull anything substantive up from Google and the Hong Kong based Korean Embassy's site has nothing about E2 visas, nothing whatsoever. |

I did one to Fukuoka years ago that only took two days because the flights lined up nicely. Presumably the embassy in Hong Kong is the same as any other embassy (maybe bigger.) I don't see why'd they'd be any faster. |

To the best of my knowledge (and experience) they are all, now, doing 4-day service (3 nights). I know that Tokyo, Osaka, Manila, Bangkok, Vancouver and Toronto are now all 4-day. I don't think HK will be any different.

If you do fly to Hong Kong, try HK Express, a budget carrier. |

It looks like I'll be doing a visa run later this month. I asked if I could go to Fukuoka since I've already been there but my recruiter said my school wants me to go to Hong Kong since I'll have the visa next-day. Last time I went to Fukuoka in 2014, I went under the assumption I could pick it up the following day but had to spend an extra night. I can't imagine anywhere does next-day service these days.
Does anyone have updated info about the processing time for visas in Hong Kong? |

My experience in July 2016: Arrived Thursday morning (4:30am flight out of Seoul) and left Friday night (because I couldn't afford a mini vacation). I think my school must have arranged an overnight processing time because there was a sign on the glass that said visas will be available for pickup one full week from the day I was there. So, I believe 5 business days is standard but your school can request a faster pickup time.
Consulate is just outside of Admiralty Station. Not exactly sure anymore but I remember I walked outside the station, turned left, crossed one small crosswalk and was there.
If you've never been to HK before and you don't take a train directly to Admiralty Station, be advised that navigating the streets by foot can be very confusing. I had to go to the bank before I went so I got off somewhere else and walked thinking I'd be fine with Google maps, but what Google doesn't show you is all of the blocked off sidewalks and weird streets in the city. I was only informed after the fact that the overhead walkways are the best way to get around. If you end up doing something similar, I believe you should follow the signs for the Far East Financial Centre. |

There are embassies in Hong Kong? Nope, but consulates abound. According to the Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong, you can get your visa issued in five days, one to two days if you present the Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance. Personally, I would go with the employer's plan |
