This is interesting. I know unions have sometimes gotten a bad press in the West, but actually, ESL is one career where people really need to organise for their own information and protection, through a union or some other set up that would do the job at least as well.
You only need to look at this forum to see how ESL teachers get shafted. Perhaps even in America it happens? |

Of course it happens.
There are so many adjuncts teaching in the US.
US universities are so bad now, with rising tuition, fewer full-time teachers, and so much money going to administration. |

The Day-Jees will fly before waygooks form a union in Korea...
They'd fire anyone and everyone at the first sign of labor agitation.
And it may be a visa violation for anyone who is not on a marriage visa to organise... |
