Hey guys, I know some of us use iherb and other online sites to purchase stuff to korea since it's pretty cheap to ship here with them.

I've been using iherb for nearly 3 years. I recently started having some problems though checking out with my paypal. I will get to the checkout page, and click "place order" but then it will delay for about 20 seconds and then a pink error message pops up saying "Paypal payment was not completed properly. Please try again." However, it shows clearly in my paypal account that a pending authorization charge has been sent to iHerb. So basically that means that they have taken the money out of my balance (on hold until item ships out and becomes an actual charge).

Usually, I have to click 'place order' 3 or 4 times to finally get it to say 'congratulations' order has been placed etc. But then I end up with 3 or 4 duplicate pending charges on my paypal.

Well, I just wanted to know if anyone else using iherb and paying via paypal method has been getting this issue as well? Or is it just me? I've contacted paypal, they say nothing is wrong with my account. I've contacted iherb, they don't know anything lol.

I was able to create a dummy iherb account (with their permission) and i attempted to place a dummy order (just for test) and checked out with my paypal again, and i got the same error, so this sort of shows that nothing is wrong with my iherb account since it also occurs on the brand new dummy account.

Now, I want to try another test, but it requires someone who has a paypal account since I'm not allowed to create a 2nd paypal account or a dummy account for test purposes. So if someone has a paypal account, could you place a test order (for example, a cheap $1 item) and then check out with paypal and see if it completes instantly without a hitch or if you also get the pink error message?

You don't have to worry if it completes. As you should already know if you've been shopping at iherb, that once you place an order, you can easily cancel it at anytime before it ships out (which is at least 24 hours). Just cancel the order and the money is back in your paypal.

Or if you have recently made an order with iherb using paypal, can you tell me if it was also with errors or delays and duplicate pending charges or did it work fine for you?

Thanks!

Even my korean wife had an issue just using a regular credit card because she addressed the package to me, not herself. Customs put a wait on it and were wondering why she was paying for stuff sent to a foreigner. Since then, we just have the *beep* sent to herself...a 4-7 day wait is better than a 2-week one.

Ah, in your case, it makes sense. When you order from Korea on iherb, they ask for your ID number or Passport number. The name of the order has to match the name of the ID given. She must've supplied her ID number with her name on it, but wrote out the shipment under your name, which is why it would be held at customs to make sure there is proper clearance.
