Dear Members:
I have recently read through a contract provided by an agency that acts as a 3rd party(?) between me and the school. I do have some experience with after school program contracts, but I thought some of the points/clauses in the contract were rather peculiar. I would like some help in deciding whether taking up the position would be a wise choice.
Is it normal for the 3rd party to ask the teachers to do non-teaching work for them outside of the designated teaching hours? They do offer over-time pay but significantly under the "average" over-time pay.
Just how many schools do I have to travel to? I've read here that some teachers had to travel between 4-6 schools!
If the school closes for their own reasons, do teachers normally have to make up for the school closure days?
Is it legal for them (3rd party) to "extort" 1+million Korean won from the employee upon his/her resignation within the first 6-months of the contract time period?
In my honest opinion, these points sound pretty bad and both the agency and the school seem very disorganized and disconnected.
Thank you very much in advance. Please excuse my writing.
Regards,

They are all pretty much illegal clauses under employment and immigration law for an E2 employee.
How desperate for work are you? If you are desperate you can sign it and live with the consequences or say no and move on to the next offer.
