I have joined ESL Library for 6 months as I am teaching general conversational English which means you choose a topic to discuss in class. ESL Library have lots of topics to choose from at the int ad adv levels. I quite liked the format of their plans so that's why I signed up. The format is a problem though, as all of the topics have the same format so I won't be able to use this website too often otherwise it will get tedious. although the school have resources to plan lessons I am wondering if anyone know another good website for general topical discussions, eg consumerism, education, environment (global warming), social media etc... Laughing

Google

We can't hold your hand every time you cross the street. It's time for you to put on the big boy pants.

I thought Google was specifically there to hold your hand and to keep you from putting on the big boy pants.

After reading that OP, I'm wondering if he isn't even a native speaker lol. Or maybe he was just typing under the influence.

Ah - but he's got wealthy relatives that will buy them for him if he just asks! Besides, how much can a pair of troll pants (big boy size) cost?

But if history holds up, he'd go to the store, read the signs in the pants section, completely misunderstand them, blame the pants signs for his mistake in buying the wrong type/size, and then have to start all over again.
