| Move to a small town near a university or a national park. Semi-retirement. Pick up a job mostly for the purpose of having something to do. |

Precisely this. Just started doing so recently, in fact, and all goes pleasantly thus far. |

| We'll probably retire to the coastal US in the south. Looking forward to doing some volunteer work, probably education or business related, and to writing (just for the heck of it, no more academic writing!). |
