We got married in Korea and have gone through all the paperwork etc for her to move to the US. Last step is the interview at the Embassy. Any idea what language this will be in? She speaks English fluently but of course it'd be easier for her in her native Korean. Any idea what sort of questions get asked or how long it runs for people? |

The guy interviewing you will probably ask hopefully if you can speak Korean so he can do the whole thing in Korean. This is what happened at my interview for a visa. I said I didn't speak it so he started speaking in bad English but got lazy halfway through and switched to Korean to talk to my wife about me. They agreed on something I was supposed to do but was actually unable to do it and I only found out about it after the interview. Typical. |

For my interview(in korea), they showed up unannounced just when my blood sugar plummeted and my oldest was puking and shitting all over the place due to some funky virus he got at his kindergarten. They started the interview in Korean, but switched to English. Pretty sure they didn't know what was up. Think they knew I loved my kid though when I spent more than half of the interview time in the toilet cleaning him up! If you're in America, or Canada, I'd pretty much say the interview will be done in English...having said that, most Americans and Canadians will have some understanding of lower-level english immigrants...i hope. |
