I am on crutches about 2 more weeks following knee surgery. My leg is much stronger, but still on crutches. I took the subway two times and that is fine, but taxi fares are getting a bit expensive (from my apartment to subway requires bus or taxi). Next week I have to go to Gangnam 2 times, which is 20,000 won each way instead of 3500 won by direct bus...
Anyone ever try or see anyone with crutches on the Seoul buses? In America they lower the bus so someone with crutches or wheelchair can just step on, but in Seoul there are two really steep steps...
Anyway, need to go to Gangnam tomorrow and thinking about doing it by direct bus, if anyone has any experience or tips, I appreciate it.
(This issue has nothing to do with employer, so looking for direct advice about the buses not anything related to employer, thanks)

The buses here don't do what you're looking for. They don't pump it up, or down, from what I've seen. Gangster buses they ain't.

Anyway, was the surgery on one leg? I hope so. You have to use the other to support you A LOT during this time. Grab the h0lyh3lL handgrips as quick as you can. If the driver has a heart, he MAY give you a bit of time...don't count on it though.

Also, people on the bus SHOULD see you as needing a seat...they should...again, no guarantee. If ur handsome like steelrails, they'll ALL give you a seat...pick one nearest the exit.

p.s. DON'T overuse that good leg as it may cause you issues...like corns. I'm speaking from experience. Use the crutches the way they were meant to be used. They hurt for awhile. Lots of padding and tape will help. PLUS you'll get huge pipes to impress the ladies!

I've seen "kneeling" buses in Busan; no doubt, they exist in Seoul also. The problem, of course, is which routes will have them and how often during the day.

Yes, about 40% of the buses are low bottom for handicapped . But it seems to be just a matter of watching to see what lines are low and what are not. Not sure if all buses of a certain number are low, but it seems that way. I took 100 into town and it was fine.
