Is it possible for hakwon teachers to get unemployment insurance benefits? My current teaching contract is done at the end of this month, and my hakwon decided not to renew my contract...I believe I have paid the 50% of the 4 major insurances on my contract for the past year..,,just curious if I'm eligible for unemployment benefit since I'm not quitting and technically being laid off from my job...anyone who has knowledge on this matter would be greatly appreciated..

If you are/were on an E2 then no, you cannot receive benefits. Your status of sojourn is tied to your employment. No employment means no permitted sojourn and therefore no benefits.

IF you are on an F2/4/5/6 then maybe.
