|
|
Hello,
I am a Korean American and would like to relocate to Seoul or a city nearby. I'm wondering what job prospects I have with my M.A. in TESOL (graduated with highest honors), B.A., and some scattered experience (a semester at 2 different universities, a semester teaching content-based ESL at the secondary level, winter program teaching at a university, and summer program teaching overseas.) My experience is awfully scattered because the job market in the states hasn't been promising. Ideally, I would like to work with adults and at the university level but I understand that competition is fierce in Korea.
What should I be aiming for?
Thanks in advance! |

You should be aiming at a university job and trying to convince them you have around 2 years' experience at university level, which is what the job adverts ask for. It's unlikely you'll get offered a place in Seoul, unless you're a good looking female. |

Plus, most universities will try to hire in-country first, and then go with outside options if necessary.
If you have a job now, you could chuck in a bunch of applications and see what happens. Can't hurt. |
