Not necessarily true for those units of the armada that spend very little of their maneuvering time topside. |

This article reports that two more carriers have been dispatched to the Korean Peninsula by Donald Trump.
Let's embrace the positive: this provides an excellent opportunity for US Naval Command to now demonstrate that it has learnt that tricky distinction between sailing north and sailing south. |

If only the present situation were anything close to a laughing matter. |

Agreed. The situation is extremely serious. The most powerful nation on earth appears to be unable to coordinate its way out of a paper bag. |

The US Navy knows exactly what it is doing. It isn't lost or confused. It has purpose in what it says and what it does. It is practicing strategies in the event that it ever goes into attack mode. |

For a moment there I thought I was reading a Trump tweet. But then I realized that you hadn't described sailing in the wrong direction as 'a beautiful thing'. |

These strategies are used in feint maneuvers. Saying one thing while doing something else. You can bet the navy was sailing in it's desired direction. Even if it says it wasn't, it was. |

Translation: "I told the world we were heading north to put pressure on the DPRK. Actually we were heading south because, hey, that's what we wanted to do, and we sure as hell aren't going to let North Korea dictate which way our battleships sail, y'hear? And that makes me 'smart', see?" |

The Federalist is a "right wing" media
https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/the-federalist/
Trump is ignorant of even International Relations 101. War mongering Military Industrial Complex also part of the problem.
This is not the 1950s. War is not the answer today...communication, mediation, resolve...only way to go into the future. Gorbachev.
Just like Iraq, NYT/media pushing for a war. Unfortunately, this is the nuclear age...
NYT’s ‘Impossible to Verify’ North Korea Nuke Claim Spreads Unchecked by Media
by Adam Johnson

"The idea that elements within the US intelligence community may actually desire a war—or at least limited airstrikes—and thus may have an interest in presenting conflict as inevitable, is never addressed, much less accounted for." |
