Why murky? (And I'm not referring to the suicide being in a river.) If you examine her life, you'll note that there's family history of suicide. As to being Muslim, evidently she never converted, but she did continue to use her first husband's surname professionally. That's not all that uncommon, as there can be a lot of paperwork to go through to change one's professional or legal name; many people find it more convenient to leave the name unchanged. |
Oh, what to do, what to say? |

I am referring to the body being found in the river, and the declaration of suicide coming ahead of an autopsy. |

If it was a cop given the same circumstances it would be investigated thoroughly.
A judge's death, in these times especially, shouldn't be dismissed so flippantly. Seems some don't even want a simple investigation consistent wit the importance of the position.
Hmmm....afraid of finding out what we may find no doubt. Bury or ignore the truth or the possibility of something more sinister.
So, it seems some of us on here prefer their comfort level to truth and justice. Again, hmm |

Who says there was no investigation? Sometimes things are done quickly and legitimately. |

http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-new-york-judge-20170420-story.html
In the initial days, police said that the death appeared to be a suicide because there were no obvious signs of trauma to her body. Reports circulated that her family had a history of suicide — that her 92-year-old mother had taken her life during the Easter holiday in 2012 and her brother two years later. But her family now disputes those stories, saying in a statement that Abdus-Salaam’s mother died naturally of old age and her brother of terminal lung cancer. |

From the same link:

Although Abdus-Salaam didn’t often open up about her private life, one thing people knew about her was that she loved to swim.
“She was like a fish in water,” Audate said. “She told my wife how much she loved the beach and pools when she was a girl.”
“This whole story seems so unlikely. I don’t think it is so easy to kill yourself by drowning,” said Todd Millner, 47, a film editor who lives a few doors away. |

Very well could have been. Though, I would not rule out the Clintons. |

She was found in the Hudson River. What is so suspicious about that? That's an idea place to jump in and commit suicide. Now, if she had drowned in the kitchen sink, I would be a little suspicious. |
