I want to climb Soraksan and visit the coast. Can anyone suggest a hotel near one of the two places? I heard Yangyang is nice. |

There are a crap ton of 50-100$ per night places right off the bus stop. Shop around and bargain for the best price. If you want a nicer hotel, the 500 Class in Sokcho (5 min walk from the bus stop) is pretty solid for the price. |

Was just there(Sokcho) and stayed at a hostel called the James Blue hostel. It was very nice and was more a hotel than hostel. I would highly recommend it. Best water pressure for a shower I've had in SE Asia haha. |

I have stayed at Daemung Resort near Sokcho on a couple of occasions.
The accomodation is average but Ok and has beautiful views of the mountains of Soraksan. I have also stayed on the coast at Yangyang at Sol beach hotel and resort. I stayed in a condo overlooking the beach. The beach scenery was beautiful. . sparkling clear water and a nice beach. Unfortunately I was there in winter and the beach was covered in snow but the kids loved the water park in the basement...all heated. I would love to stay there again in warmer weather. |
