Hello everyone!
I was just hired into the GOE teaching program, and I am supposed to begin teaching on Sept.1st 2017! I had been planning purchasing many items including a cell phone and plan from The Arrival Store after reading so many good things about it. But, very sadly I was told by one of their staff that they are currently not selling phones/plans and have very limited supply of other essential living items. This is because they are "currently in a state of transition". Anywhoo, does anyone know of a reputable company like The Arrival Store where you can order many hard-to-pack things online and have them delivered at your school or apartment before you arrive in Korea? (One that offers cell phones and plans would be a wonderful added bonus hehe ^-^) Thanks in advance~! |

The Arrival Store isn't worth it. I can't believe they are still in operation actually. You can get everything here without having to deal with them. Just get you a cellphone from one of the carriers here for cheap. |

Aren't the government schools still dong the household goods allowance plan? Under that plan, you went to a store (or stores), priced the items you wanted, submitted the list to your school's finance officer, they approved it, and you went back to the store with the school credit card to purchase the stuff. Of course there was a maximum amount on the allowance.
What things are you looking for that you think are hard to find in Korea? |
