It seems that the D-10 takes about 10 working days to process...for some tha is not a bother, for others, they may not want to wait.
So...with a Letter of Release in hand, can one take a two/three week holiday and return, having that Letter of Release still valid? If the previous school cancels the visa, is the LOR obsolete upon return, for the purpose of the purpose of transferring documents? The ARC expiration date is well covered in terms of length of time...
Simply put...if one wants to leave without waiting around to obtain the D-10 AND cash in on the pension. can one come back in a few weeks and simply start the job hunt again, with the LOR still valid? |

Thus...what good is having a LOR if the school cancels the visa? |

If you leave as you've described, and your employer informs immi you no longer work there, you won't need the LOR for a new job, but you will need to get stamped copies of your docs from immi, and do a visa run when you find a job, because you'll have re-entered the country as a tourist.
If your employer hasn't informed immigration, or you decide to switch to a D10 or a new E2 straight away, you"ll need the LOR to transfer your visa. |

My previous school is above the bar, regarding legalities...so I think.
So, with this in mind, as I really am not up for waiting around for the D visa, in addition to staying in a crummy, hot, hostel...I 'm going to go do a bit of volunteer work in S.E. Asia for a wee or two.
Thus, my understanding is....I have my letter of release, I leave without handing in my ARC., come back, and obtain the copies from immigration in Suwon... |
