Let's hope for the best ...

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-hails-progress-north-korea-warns-false-hope-151459348.html

Well, now that Trump has appointed war hawk John Bolton to be in charge of Department of Defense, it looks like the U.S. will be hell-bent on waging war with both North Korea and Iran (unless Trump can be removed from office first ...) Bolton has advocated for a first-strike on North Korea without provocation and proactively bombing Iran ...

(Basically anything to distract from the Mueller investigation ...)

Well, Kim Jong-Un has formally invited President Trump to meet with him for talks, and Trump immediately accepted, abruptly saying he'll meet with him by May ...

NK reportedly has promised to refrain from further nuclear tests - at least while this "peace" process plays out ...

An obvious concern is Trump's tendency to blurt out/promise things off script - which on the international stage is harder to walk back than in domestic matters like gun control. Some analysts also think that peace talks should have begun on a lower level, gradually culminating in a summit down the road, but I think a lot of progress could be made now if North Korea is actually ready to cash in on its nuclear development for massive economic help and security guarantees ...

the economic help will be in the form of a Trump Hotel to replace the unfinished Ryugyong Hotel and a bankrupt cheesy Trump Casino, Atlantic City style to go with it

If this meeting happens, of course it'll happen in North Korea, and that'll only be because Kim knows how easily he can handle Trump. China already proved that.

Hopefully a viable peace deal can be made despite Trump's ego and intellectual limitations, but it might serve to strengthen Chinese - and weaken American - influence in the region ... https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/05/why-the-end-of-the-korean-war-is-bad-news-for-the.html

Over 40 years involvement with Korea gives me a bit of insight, one would think.

Despite his war-monger advisers, I think Trump really wants to somehow reach a peace accord with North Korea mainly just to save his Presidency... https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/seoul-north-korea-committed-us-summit-denuclearization-012000665.html
