From a BBC News page...

Costly service

Korea and Japan are way ahead of the game and have been testing several methods of reception for a couple of years.

The existing Korean 3G network is fast enough to stream live TV. It is basically broadband TV on your mobile.

"I first watched TV on my mobile phone when I went fishing," said Noh Eun Kyung, a mobile TV user.

"I had missed an episode of my favourite TV drama so I began watching it using my phone.

"The TV function is fun and convenient but also very expensive. I only watched about 45 minutes and it cost me about $50."

Cost, it seems, will be an important factor in mobile TV's success.

50 bucks to watch a 45 minute drama!!!

and a korean drama at that Laughing

the bloody thing is that small i hardly think it would be worthwhile...

and the price, well, that is incredible... what show is so important that you must spend 50 bucks to see 45 minutes? none.

i can buy a vcr for that price and tape the show at home on a timer and watch the sucker when ever i feel like it..

it will never take off unles its dirt cheap!
becuase you can buy portable tvs for 200.000 won.. hand held.
1000 won a minute is a joke!!!

they will offer unlimited acess for 20-30.000 a month...probably something like that... its not like KT is already killing it off SMS and internet use on phones..
if they make it 10 won a minute maybe....

My wife told me about a guy who watched the entire "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" on his cellphone after he saw a commercial encouraging this. He ended up owing more than 2,000,000 won... OOPS!

People are idiots.

Like cocaine in the 80's maybe this is God's new way of telling you that you have too much money.

in an aside, I feel like watching a movie like LOTR on the TV is missing so much of the experience, never mind a screen that is 1/100 of an inch.
