What's the deal with these camp jobs? So many of them seem to pay a substandard wage. And then on top of it they want you to spend the night in a dorm with a bunch of kids, and I'm sure that alone should merit some kind of hazradous duty bonus. But one I was looking at basically boiled down to 25,000 won per hour for each teaching hour, and about 6 teaching hours a day - 150,000 total per day. |

The reason summer camp jobs pay so crappy is that they are money mills designed to squeeze as much extra cash out of the parents and as much time out of innocent newbies that have just graduated as they can!
They want you to maximize your time with the kiddies. If you dont know what the hell is going on you sign up get ridden hard and put away wet for a couple of weeks and then realize how little you were paid for the amount of time/work you put in!
Some camp jobs pay well but are also labour intensive! I worked one last year...20 days and I was with the kids from breakfast til bedtime and I cleared 3.5. Average time spent with student was about 14-15 hours a day(Sundays off) |
