do weird shit with food?

Mine is always concocting these rank mixtures he fondly believes to be delicious. (For example: Coke + makkoli.) He is currently in the kitchen whipping up a milkshake made with lemonade crystals. Shocked

Is it a K-thing? a man thing? or unnatural no matter who does it?

I do all kinds of weird stuff with food and I believe it's natural. However, these weird things are not repeated when it turns out they're just stupid and wrong -- so maybe your man has the Korean corn-on-pizza-dumb-cooking gene.

Wifey likes really, REALLY rank kimchi. I like kimchi myself, but the stuff her mom sends, and which she lets ferment to perfect stinkiness on our "veranda", really brings on the old eye water.

And, Harin, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I once came home to find her eating SPAM straight out of the can...with chopsticks.

He doesn't whip up weird concoctions, but he eats things in strange combination and sees nothing wrong with it. For example, he will eat dried squid and take periodic bites of my chocolate.

Food? No. Everything she does is normal as far as I can make out.

during the first few months of our marriage, my wife prepared rice, kimchi and either beef, chicken or pork for dinner every evening. one evening, i mentioned that i enjoyed eating other food other than what she was feeding me like steak and potatoes. the next evening, she prepared the worst tasting steak and potatoes i have ever eaten. instinctively, i told her it was absolutely delicious and enjoyed great sex with her that night. for the following 2 years, she made the most vile tasting steak and potatoes i've ever tasted every evening until one night i got really drunk and told her that i wasn't in the mood and that she is the worst goddam cook i've ever laid. she replied that she thought that i liked steak and potatoes. i said yes but not every goddam evening!

it got me to thinking about Korean psychology and their eating habits. i figure that Koreans eat rice and kimchi nearly every meal because one evening a long, long time ago a Korean woman made rice and kimchi for her man. the man, really wanting to shag her that night said, "wow, this tastes great!" so, the woman figured that the easiest way to make her mate happy was to give him what he wants, over and over again. word quickly got around to the other Korean women and that's why Koreans still eat rice and kimchi nearly every goddam meal today.

i could be wrong though. Cool

I agree with summer-crush's hypothesis, but part of the story has been omitted.

The night before, the man had 'over-drank' soju and could not rise to the occassion. The following night, the woman served rice and kimchi and hubby, not having had anything to drink, did manage. Her conclusion was that rice and kimchi are 'good for health'.

Last night was the final straw.

I found corn in my spaghetti sauce. My wife was adamant that is the way she likes it. I screamed and ran out of the room....

Peppers, onions, I can take. But corn. CORN! The memories of reading the pizza & corn threads came rushing back to me.

The dogs ate well last night.

I ate red brick oven pizza, minus the corn.
