So i keep hmming and hahing about what to do.

This is what's on the table:

My current employers want me to extend really badly. So they offered me a return ticket home, and back to korea.... cause i said i needed to go home for a month, see my family, and just get away. So they are giving me a month off and the ticket. Good deal. (in December)

Now i love my school, want to stay and everything, but cannot sign on for another year. This is what i want:

January 1st - August 1st contract
- that's 7 months.

Im going to ask for no vacation, same pay, same hours. Do i have any right here to ask for a 500,000W bonus/airfare stipend at the end of the 7 months?

Thats what i want, but not sure if it is being too greedy. What do you think????

thanks to anybody.

Ask for even (a bit) more!

A standard six-month contract comes with one-way airfare, so you should ask for that, for them to foot your flight back home. I know that some employers don't want to pay for the airfare if someone is already in Korea but there's no reason one couldn't negotiate to get it, since they would have to offer it to a newcomer anyways.

So, don't ask for extra money. Ask for the plane ticket.

It sounds less greedy and more reasonable that way too.

Don't waiver. Express your desire to stay but... you have needs too.

And, if they try to disagree with that condition then speak about the advantage to them if you stay an extra six months: it's easier to find another teacher in the summer than at New Year's.

If they want you, they aren't losing any money by giving you the one-way ticket home, compared to their alternatives.

You'll get it.

Six months contracts do usually have one ticket - that would be your ticket back to Korea. However, if you're not asking for a raise ... the 500 000 won sounds VERY reasonable. If they don't agree to it, ask for 100 000-200 000 won raise per month and save the money that way. Don't give up holidays though! One year is 10-15 days, 6 months should be 5-7 days.
