How many people are there teaching English who are not native English speakers. I mean people who were born in a non-English speaking country and moved to an English speaking country as children. I wonder if this would make much of a difference for a hagwon.

I don't know how many people here are like that, but as long as you have a passport and a degree from an English-speaking country, you should be alright.

I worked with a guy who moved to an english speaking country in his teenage years. Seemed to do ok. As long as you do the paperwork a lot of places won't notice a strange accent. My korean teachers won't pick up when my accent slips into to kiwi over some words.

Thanks a lot guys this is really good news. How about those recruiters, would they notice anything or create problem because on their sites it specifically says that they need NATIVE English speakers. Is that just to please the school or do they really make sure you are native.
