|
|
Hi
I have a visa credit card, but do not have a p.i.n. number. This rules out trying to use an ATM machine. Does anyone have any suggestions as to getting a cash advance.

Go out for dinner with a large group of people, collect money from everyone, and pay the bill with your credit card. |

Just go to any bank and have a clerk do it for you. You'll have to fill out one or two short forms and provide your signature. |

After that, I think you should get a PIN. |

I have a PIN but can't seem to find the cash vestibules that will let me use a foreign card.
I have both debit check visa and cash advance visa, and I have Hana and CHB accounts.
Where are the cash places to go and which of the many Korean banks can help me pull money from the card. |

The NICE and Hananet (the one with the little squishy thing with a hand growing out of its head) are the ones that can service foreign cards. |

Where do you find those? Itaewon? Any location that you regularly use? |

I've always been able to use the ATM's at LG25 convenience store. No matter what city I'm visiting, they always have the HANNET machines. I just use a regular ATM card from a podunk bank in the states and have never had any trouble. I just recently discovered the FAMILYMART stores also have foreign friendly machines, but I cant vouch for the whole chain yet, just MASAN, BUSAN, and POHANG.
The only trouble I had once, I withdrew 200,000 won but appearantly the machine didn't have the money to give so it spat out an error reciept, no money, and deducted the money from my account!! But I called the number on the reciepth and THANKGOD HANNET has english speaking service agents and the money was returned to my account the next day, phew! |

There's one in Hongdae, across from Stompers, next to the convenience store.
There's another similar one at Samsung Plaza in Bundang.
There's also the occasional one in a convenience store, but not all of them. You've just got to look around. I don't know of any in Suwon; the one that they had near Aju University closed down a year ago. |

Do you use a Korean card or a foreign card?
I can't get my cash advance card to work anywhere in Korea.
It's Bank of America and I'll check the branch tomorrow near Euljiro3ga(sp?) tomorrow.
I'm in Seoul for the short term currently. |

Have been trying to get a cash advance all day but no joy. Citibank said I needed a pin number, Shin Han said they would only be able to give me money on a dollar creditcard (mine's pounds) and KEB said that I needed a pin too. Any ideas where I can go to get a cash advance? It's pretty urgent guys as I'm trying to buy a motor! All help much appreciated! |

My problem was solved. Make sure your card in an international card with a "+" sign on the back. My didn't have that and couldn't withdraw anything. |
