I am enquiring as to how I go about finding a fake degree to come and teach English in Korea.
If anyone has ever done it, knows someone who has or knows somewhere I can get one, it would be most appreciative.
Please PM with any information.... |

We don't need any rolling of the eyes-we are all edified with Andie posts, and the rollig eyes can only discourage Andie-wannabes
Jaderedux, I was watching Letterman tonight and he was praising Lance Armstrong, calling the Toutr The Tour De Lance and he says, "We have Lance Armstrong here tonight".
And out comes this morbidly obese guy on a racing bike wearing the helmet and the gear.
Letterman is funny in many ways, but he has always made fun of fat people, and that's great, that's good. |

Go to Thailand. In Bangkok, there is an area called Khao San Road in the west side of the city. Many places there will be willing to sell you an official-looking degree and transcripts. |

This is an increasingly common way to work in the republic - If I was a loser I would try:
A- Diplomaville these guys say that they are the cheapest on the net- are they? Dunno, but at prices starting at US $79.00 and FREE fedex shipping, who cares?
B-Replica Diplomas these guys are running a "Graduate Special" For $259.95 you get 1 diploma and transcript, an embossed seal, a custom seal, printing done on security paper and free USPS shipping!
C-Fantasy Diplomas these guys have a nice webpage and their pricing starts at $39.00! WoooHooo!
I give up- if a wingnut is going to come here and teach englishee with a fake diploma nothing is going to stop them. I googled "replica diploma" and got so many results that I am going to offer this as a service in my office- degrees from US schools without having to leave Korea! I'll be rich in no time! |

| i say if employers in korea aren't smart enough to do any kind of checking up on potential empoyees, oh well....their fault. i don't understand why so many people are upset with people coming here without BA's. |

Thanks for all the info...
I do not know who Andie is....so I don't know what you are talking about.....
Is it easy to spot a fake? Or do they only care that they have someone who is a native English speaker?
I can't understand why a degree in ANY subject gives you the right to teach english. |

I know, but you might if you were able to spell English correctly. Thank God that my school checks people's degrees & transcripts. |

Or a fake one, at that.
The way it should be, is like what many schools in Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and others, are beginning to expect out of teachers. Don't show up with less than a degree and CELTA. Or even Hong Kong with it's higher standards of BA/MA TESOL/english, CELTA, plus experience requirements. Mind you, you can still get work there, but the better gigs are starting to expect more out of teachers. But the market and demand is so much bigger here, that Korea can't afford to get that picky.
Regardless, it still just comes down to nationality, age, looks and contacts, in this place, even if you have a degree from the U of Faux. |
