I am presently trying to get a book together on Korean culture. What I want to target is culture clash, including things such as confusion, mix-ups, daft stories, etc., with a view to helping foreingers come to terms with it and vice-versa - in the area of business, education, politics or whatever. I don't want it to come across as being overly negative - I hope to have a decent balance whereby the reader - Korean or foreign - will have some means to improve their chance of success. It can be related to any 'meeting' of Korea with the 'outside world', in or out of Korea.
I am particularly interested in negotiating styles and tactics and their successes and failures, and why. My search is for what makes one succeed (Korean or foreign) where the other fails. If you know of an interesting book or source on negotiation strategy, please post the title below.
I have been in Korea ten years and could probably fill an entire book with my own examples, but that would be too narrow an experience. So, lots of positive and negative examples required. Think about it for awhile - if you have any good examples, send them along and they might get included. Real names will not be included in the final text.
Send examples to: [email protected]
