I'm organizing a trip for some cadets - we have stoves that use naptha gas, but I'm trying to figure out if this gas is available in Korea. My contacts there don't seem to know what I'm talking about.
Anyone know? |

Is unleaded regular gasoline available in Korea? It works fine in Colman lamps and stoves. Enjoy your camping trip. |

If it's what I know as 'white gas' you can buy it at good camping stores (not the Colon Sports and 'brand name only' stores but real camp stores. |

I saw some the other day at Hanam supermarket, but I bet it's pricey- try Costco. |

It's around. Just check all of the hiking-camping stores that you come across and you might find some. That's how I got some for MSR stove--just simply came across it and bought it on the spot.
Later, while crashing at a filthy Jirisan minbak, I noticed a rat sprinting across the cement floor. The minbak owner gave me a room in a dungeon-like setting and I was contemplating my current digs and the state of accomodation for travelers in Korea. Piss poor on some occassions such as this. It was after dark and I didn't like the idea of rats running free in my room. Out comes the white gas and I dump half a bottle down the rat hole. I sprinkled a trail across the cement floor, flicked a lighter and BANG!
Holy fucking shit did that bang! Boom! I felt the concussion on my chest and a wave of hot explosive force knocked me slightly back. It must have cracked the foundations of the building.
No more rats. White gas is always nice to have around. |
