Went to Seoul (from Cheonan) for a couple of days. Just got home. Hope none of were going into Seoul via the number 1 expressway around 4:00. Three vehicle accident with A LOT of damage, one of those vehicles being an express bus.

Anyway, it was a good trip. An old cliche works: it's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there. There are way too many people there.

It's really easy to get around. With the subways and the tour bus, I was never lost. I like Insadong. Seoul Tower was nice. The bulgogi at the revolving restaurant is okay. Ate at Dunkin' Donuts, Burger King and Red Rock cafe as well (I can get enough Korean food here in Cheonan).

Here's an interesting note. For all you Itawonites out there. The Seoul City Tour Bus said Itaewon has more foreigners than Koreans. Is this true? I saw more foreigners there from the bus (didn't stop there), but I don't think it was even close to an even split.

The botanical gardens are inexpensive. 300 wan! I enjoyed myself. It's an easy walk from Seoul Tower.

Comments?

Cool

Don't order western style food at the revolving restaurant. It sucks unpleasant smelly bad stuff.

I spent very little time in 'the Twon'. It had nothing I wanted. It had nothing I needed. It was, however, a real novelty to take my parents there and see so many waygooks, and hear people speaking other European and Asian languages. And foreigner-savvy Koreans! wow

The subway system makes Seoul seem a lot smaller than it actually is. You can get anywhere in half an hour.

The yogwan I stayed at had some....interesting...pictures of women. Very Happy

So true. I didn't realize how far away from Seoul Ansan was until I went up on Seoul Tower to have a look. Dang, I live in the boonies!

Is that why it takes me almost an hour to get to work everyday? Confused

I was there two days. Definitely will return to Insadong. Maybe next time I go I can pm you and you can show me the vastness that is the noraebang. Rolling Eyes

Besides, I heavily desire Western breakfast. Muffins will do for now.
