The heat is getting to me I think.

I lose my cool so easily when I deal with immigration.

So I have to renew my employment stamp with immigration, and I'm on an F2, and immigration knows it. In fact, believe it or not, it was immigration that collected all my paperwork for the F2, and then gave me a lovely stamp. It goes until 2006 or something.

So I called them today about the papers I need for the new E2 permission. You'd think I wouldn't need any sort of F2 paperwork in order to renew an E2 permission wouldn't you? Yeah right.

I'll call them on Monday and get a different answer. I don't like their Friday answer. Roll the dice, it's another dumb bunny immigration extravaganza.

In defense of Korean immigration, civil service clerks have a reputation for being incompetent all over the world. Obviously not all of them, but enough to create a reputation.

I guess that's not much of a defense of Korean immigration, is it?

Immigration is sometimes dumber than a bag of hair. When I was inquiring about the F2 I heard the following gem:

You or your spouse must have at least 30 million won in a Korean bank account (b.s. -- and I wonder why they perpetuated it to so many. Simple ignorance? I doubt it).

That happened to you too?! LOL

I waited about 45 minutes for them to try and track mine down. All the while, buses of police started showing up and soon enough, a foreign workers' demonstration began forming. They found my password just as the loud speakers started.

Clever!
You have sharp eyes and a memory like a steel trap (you'll probably need to stock up on WD-40 soon).
Of course Hyalucent meant to say 'passport'.

The way to handle those immigration boys is to just cry. I tried it once to get my way and the immigration guy was so horrified ... so I put it on some more, blubbered and asked for some tissues etc... wouldn't relent until he gave me my passport and ARC card Sad (which I was there to collect but he wouldn't give to me because it was 5 minutes past 12 - WTF is with this whole nationwide shutdown at *lunchtime???*) ... and give it to me indeed he did and I left with a huge smile Very Happy

ah, the wiley ways of women Wink

I always tease my students who are studying "public administration."

"Oh!! You're the one who will say..."No...one more paper"..."No..you need one more thing."

Doesn't 'stupid immigration' qualify as an oxymoron?
