Hello,
I bought a 125cc Magma the other day. It seems fine, but last night I was in the highest gear (4th I think) and it made a strange rattle sound. Like a noise that shouldn't be there...a friction noise. I popped it down one more gear and the noise goes away? Does a really weak gear sound that loose in this little bikes?
Does anyone know what this could be? Or better yet, what kind of terminology should I use at the mechanic or with my Korean translater. |

A friction noise could mean that your oil is low because I had the same expierence. Should change oil every 500K's or less. I went 1000K's without changing it and there was barely a drop left in the engine, no wonder 5th gear at 100ks an hour sounded like metal on metal!
Other than that, absolutly no idea. |

Yeah, oil change is only W5,000. May as well. Then see what happens. Totally totally necessary every 500 kms. |

If it only does it in high gears it could be the clutch slipping. Might be adjusted incorrectly, or worn out. |

Thanks...
Definately gonna get an oil change. But wouldn't it be grinding in every gear if it was low on oil? Hmm...
Can i safely rule out a "Bad Engine" situation. My friend has brand new 125cc and when I compare the idle and the rev in neutral it sounds the same. No knockin? But highest gear is rappin?
Also, can any of you bikers recommend a good service shop. I live in the Kangnam-Seocho-Gu area.
Thanks.. |

Honda CBRs do this when the cam chain tensioner needs to be tightened. It's no big deal to fix if that's the problem. |
