Has anyone bought a PDA in Korea?
I'm thinking about getting one and need some tips on which products to avoid and which ones to look for. I figure since most electronic products are cheaper and better here, it'd be a good idea to get one in korea before going back home.
Where would be the best place to shopping for PDA and what price range should i be looking at? (new/ used)
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated!

I dont' think the products here are better. Most are the same as back home. I think the only products that are released here first are cell phones. I've heard that this is a test market for cell phones so they get the latest ones first.
I could be wrong though.

When i was comparing computers between back here and home the specs were about the same and I think the specs on the computers back home were a bit better than the ones here.

I don't know much about PDAs but one thing that I would suggest is to decide on what you will use it for. Decide what features suit your needs and then go from there.

Are Blackberries PDAs I've heard that they are very popular with the business community back home. NOt sure all what they do, though.

Blackberries are 'always on' internet/email access. Unlike an email/web capable cell phone or PDA, you don't have to 'dial up' to get your email- when someone sends it to you, you get it. That's their big advantage over most other PDAs/cell phones- for people who must be able to access their email at anytime, wherever they are.

They can also be used as cellphones, and have standard PDa stuff like address book, calender, applications, etc.

They're not cheap, and the monthly rates are a killer. In fact the rates on using it as a phone are so bad that we issue cellphones as well as BlackBerries and tell employees never to use a Blackberry to make a phone call except in an emergency.

I guess this isn't the Blackberry's fault, but the rates aren't very competitive.

Personally I'd rather have a TungstenW or a new Treo, but it all depends on what's important to you; there are so many options these days- PDAs, cell phones, BlackBerries, pocket PCs...

Realistically, if I was going to buy one with my own money I'd go for a Zire72- it only has bluetooth, but it's relatively cheap. I don't want to carry around a $500-$800 piece of pocket hardware that I might misplace or drop (but then I'm the kind of person who owns 4 pairs of $12 sunglasses rather than 1 pair worth $250).

It's all in the O/S software- you can load just about any PDA with an English Palm O/S or a pocket PC with English Win CE. If you can't get this from the vendor you can get it off PtoP or the PDA websites.
Don't know what the keypad looks like on a Korean PDA, but it must be bilingual? I can't imagine it being Korean only...
