I'm trying to find some way to do full-screen or at least larger than MSN permits for video chatting. I've googled and cannot find anything.
Tips, recommendations?
my parents and daughter will thank you. |

I could be wrong but I believe it's still beyond the capability of most internet connections- just too much data to send/receive. Regardless, you probably can't do it with MSN but will need some other application.
I hope I'm wrong, I'd like to be able to do this too. |

As long as your web cam put out 2 megapixels it should not be pixelated on a 1024x768 screen. Anyhow I still haven't had any luck. |

Yep, and there are lots of 2 megapixel webcams out there.
Of course it's possible...there isn't much in tech that isn't, but you need some pretty specialized hardware. Through MSN messenger or Windows messenger, it's not possible.
There are some 3rd party software solutions out there for full screen chat (iChatAV for Mas OS, iSpQ for Win), but I seriously doubt that the quality is up to snuff or the connection would be good enough to support a full-screen feed....that's a heck of a lot of data. At 30FPS you would need about 700–800 kbps in each direction.
1024x768 is full-screen? Maybe on a 15-inch monitor, but even a 17" can usually do 1280x1024. |
