Hi,
My friend bought a new Korean laptop, but it only has windows XP in Korean. I've heard that it's a rip off to get it installed in English over here.
Does anyone know how I can get a cheap / free copy?

I bought a laptop at technomart and got it with english xp and english laptop set up disks. I didn't get ripped off. You just have to ask. If you're buying some local, not for export laptop version because of price you might end up getting what you paid for in terms of english support.
One of the problems with buying a laptop and installing vanilla XP is some laptops have a lot of weird drivers. You'll spend a lot of time trying to download the weird drivers from the OEM's site.
It's much better to get the original laptop disk image/restore cds that come with the english version of the unit. |
