A few years back, when my yang-dah-rhee ex-gf showed up at school with a big 1 Karat rock on her finger, I naturally assumed it was a big diamond, and that she'd hooked up with some rich sugar-daddy to marry. Some time later, however, I figured out that Koreans often give big fat Cubic Zirconia fake diamond rings as "couple rings".

I asked some friends, and it's like a big deal to get a big CZ ring. That seems pretty stupid to me, since i see they are like 150,000 won and under.

Anyone know anything else about this CZ practice?

It cracks me up how the Korean girls go all silly buying fake brands as quickly as possible.



One Korean girl, when she came to Australia, was surprised that people largely didn't care about brands.

I felt like saying...have you even ever looked at the price of REAL brands, because if you did you could see why people don't always spend that much on a name.

Or do you honestly think that Prada handbag you're carrying is the genuine article....
