thought this would be a cool question to see what people came up with. i guess clearling some debts was a good intention for me originally but am now starting a korean class and taekyon. id like to save as secondary to feeling as much a part of the place as possible and enjoying my time here, also my job. i think it can not be a good thing for money to be number 1. |

Money is definitely the most important thing. Saving for a house, gonna have it paid for and move back to Canada. Who would want to stay in Korea. |

How to be passive and uncooperative while still earning enough money to buy a 42 pyung apartment , purchase a new car, and send my children to expensive foreign universities.
An official in the International Cooperation Division of Seoul City admitted, "The same complaints regarding visas, transportation, education, and environment are raised every year without being solved, due to the lack of cooperation from government agencies involved and their passive attitudes."

When I first came here, my goals were Cultural (travel, language, meeting&interacting&learning from the people), Financial (pay off debts, save, buy a house back home, rent it out, and keep travelling), Spiritual(get away from the rat race and begin to explore my inner self in an older culture. Learn and practice meditation). I feel that I've done all or at least made a good dent in all, but I got side-tracked over the past 2 years with doing other stuff. Starting some businesses that got me more in debt.
Now, I'd say that I'd be happy to walk away from here with clear debts, some form of fixed investment back home, enough of a surplus of cash to support 4-6 months of travel next year, improved Korean language ability, and a boatload of photos and journals from my time here. |

When I came here, I figured Korea 'd be a great place to figure out what I wanted to be when (if?) I grew up, while travelling a bit and paying down some student loans. I really love my job most days, but it's not for me over the long term. |
