I often go out to Itaewon on the weekends, and end up taking a bus from Hannam-dong to Bundang late at night.

For two weekends now, I've waited nearly an hour for the 1005-1 bus (last direct bus to Bundang after 1:00am), which was packed so tight the bus drove by and wouldn't let anyone on. After that, the 1005-1 time was over.

Meanwhile, I'm watching bus after bus of 90% empty Seongnam buses stop and go between any 1005-1 bus, which came about every 20 minutes.

This wasn't a problem before the wonderous new "bus system" was put into place. There used to be plenty of buses!

There also aren't as many of the former 45-2 or 9000 buses going to and from Bundang, and they are often overcrowded in the evenings. I absolutely HATE standing all the way to Bundang!

Standing is bad enough, but when buses keep going by for an hour with no room on them, it's time to add more buses!

unfortunately, i don't have an answer for you, but if you figure out how to contact the powers that be to tell them where to run more buses, be sure to post it here!

i live just south of the 3rd nam san tunnel, and every morning i stand at the bus stop with 20-30 fellow commuters as we watch bus after crowded bus pass us by. meanwhile twice as many empty buses cruise past in the opposite direction!

when a driver is nice enough to stop, 30 people try to cram into a space that could probably accomadate one. it's completely ludicrous.

Yeah, you're experiencing exactly the same thing in the same general area.

It's crazy.

I found some phone numbers under the new bus number signs, but haven't called, since I haven't been in town during the daytime lately.

Buy a used car. You are old enough to drive, right? You do have a license, right?

If you do call, please record the conversation. Laughing

Uhh... sure...

Like I want to pay 1,000 won each way on the expressway, PLUS the outrageous price of gas it costs for me to drive back and forth between Bundang and Seoul.

Like I want to get stuck in long traffic jams as the buses whiz by in their own high-speed lanes.

Like I want to dump several thousand won on some piece-of-crap old clunker that will likely need repairs.

Like I want to have to drive around for 10 extra minutes once I reach my destination, searching for a parking spot.

Any more bright ideas?

Laughing

Yeah....stop whining if you don't want to pay for convenience....keep riding the 40-foot limo. Quietly.

And if the bus does "whiz by in the high speed lanes" then why did you have to wait for an hour? Rolling Eyes

Or, make the call.

Who is "them"? Do you really think anyone here has experience in getting "them" to add more buses to a route? Laughing

Cute deal with the name...how old are you?

You have some issues Gollum.

believe me, i would get a car if it were feasible, but the fact that i work in jongno means that even if i had one to whisk me to work in a cool and luxuriously brief 10 minutes, i would be forced to drive around for the next 8 hours looking for parking before returning home, but not before getting stuck in rush hour traffic in 3-ho tunnel for an extra 45 minutes...

seriously, though, thanks for letting us know about the phone numbers on the bus signs; i will surely be calling soon.
