Three ideas:

1.Something from your country if you have some idle gifts around.

2.Or some Jeju honey if you can buy some (A gift to me made my Korean co-workers jealous).

3. Don't ask other foreigners, ask some Koreans.

Good luck whatever.

If its a holiday or some other family event (not just for meeting you but something that would be going on without you), bring a big old box of Korean pears. I know it sounds simple but it won me huge points on Chuseok.

Good luck Sarah!! Unfortunately I'm no expert, but I suggest a gift set of Korean wine/grape juice, like Jirisan. Very nice and well thought of here, in a nice box set.
But i agree, ask a korean for ideas, much better.

Fruit was my first thought, and that is what my husband thought too.
However, it may make a difference whether they are urban or rural people. My in-laws are definitely rural and practicality matters most to them. If they are urban, maybe the other's advice makes more sense?

I'd check with your boyfriend to make sure.
