I was wondering if anyone knew of any banks in Seoul which would allow one to write checks in US dollars. I would like to send money home this way. If anyone has done this before, I would really appreciate advice and bank recommendations Thanks |

I don't think Banks in Korea even offer chequing accounts.
I have heard of people mailing unsigned travellers checques made out to their banks though- that might be an option. |

They don't have the checking system that we use in the West.
They deal only in credit cards or cash.
I think you should leave your checkbook at home if you come to Korea. |

Bring the chequebook, because I've needed to send voided cheques to noth america a few times to authorise payments, just don't expect to use it to pay for stuff here. |
