Anyone familiar with this school? I'm a first-timer thinking of heading over to teach in either Japan or Korea.

I don't know anything about Daegu, going to look it up on the internet. As long as it isn't polluted as I've heard some cities are then it should be alright.

I'll check that website where black-listed schools are listed.

30hours/week for 1.9mil won. The students are adults though, so that should be easier and less stressfull ...

I lived in Daegu for 2 years and placed a guy in Herald in downtown, once. Know the manager there. Is it the Herald in downtown? And that's Herald as in adults, not Kid's Herald, as in kindy, right?

Yes, it's a school for adults. I'm not sure what the address is :/
I've just finished reading many posts about the lying and scheming ways of Kids Herald schools. I hope there is no connection between them.

Looking at some pics of Daegu, it looks like a nice, green kinda city.

Herald is not related to Kid's Herald. And there are over a hundred Kid's Heralds in Korea, so they are not all bad. And one should always never put too much weight on teacher testimonials on the internet. Go to the source and talk to the current and, if possible, past teachers of the school.

There are a couple of Heralds in Daegu, but the main one is downtown. VP is Mark Kim, who is a really great guy. The senior teacher was really cool, too. Can't remember his name. He played in a band in Daegu. Had no complaints of the school, he said. Great location. And, as I recall, they had great central accommodation, bigger than most hogwan apartments.

Downside is the splits, which 90% of adult gigs have. 6am-9am and 6pm-9pm, are very common hours.
