I never get ddong-chim'ed (and I feel smug about it Laughing ). It happened to me 2 or 3 times at a place I worked a couple of years ago.

If only it turned out serious posters like Gord, or whoever, get ddong-chim'ed all the time, I'd see them in a whole different light.

This is a hot issue and the results of this survey should be published somewhere, with each hagwon given a ddong-chim factor. Wink

If you get ddong-chim'ed - how do you handle it? What was your reaction the first time it happened? What age kids do you teach?

I've never had the pleasure, but a couple of years ago the school I worked for was looking to hire a new teacher, and the while the assistant director was showing a potential employee the facilities, a gang of kids ran up in the hallway and started ddongchimming him into the next decade. My assistant director apparently found it pretty amusing, for she began to laugh aloud.

The guy didn't take the job offer.

I think the fad has died down a bit.

It was all the rage a couple of years ago but I think its happened to me once this year and I took his fingers and gently reminded him not too do that again.

Yup happened once or twice and I firmly made sure that they knew never to do that again! Little kids get a gentle NO! and maybe a little tap on the hand to know never to do it again. Older kids get tossed out of the class and told not to come back(the director has to intercede on their behalf Wink ) then they all know how bad it is!

Once or twice in the beginning, now never, pain is a great lesson giver. A practice I hate as much as spitting. Smile

>. As one might imagine, this quaint little bit of monkey business didn't go over all that well when a couple of my kids tried this on me last year.

Quite interesting actually to stop here & consider the Korean mind. Literally the word ħ ( think i got the spelling right ) means SH&T acupuncture Shocked

Had one little bastard at my old school who tried to do it every day, took weeks to break him of it, but these days I don't have any babies so I get to keep my ass pristine.

I haven't had it happen, but I did have a little girl stroke my ass one day on an escalator in EMart.

In Viet Nam this young woman who did my nails and legs started stroking my breasts! She just seemed to be being "friendly", but it was jarring.

6-7 years ago, it was all the rage. Told my students to stop or die. They stopped, mostly. I really think it is perverse for the adults to laugh about this, and not say a thing to the children to correct their behaviour.

You know that Korean mothers and fathers, grandfathers and--especially--grandmothers, fondle their infant sons and grandsons' penises, right?

There has been at least one case where an elderly Korean woman was deported from the States because she tried getting fresh on a playground with some kid to whom she wasn't related.

No one has ever tried it. And I daresay no one ever shall. If it should happen, the perpetrator would be unpleasantly surprised to find himself missing a body part or two. Whichever one came in contact with me, I imagine.
