I regularly hear songs, at bars, in stores, on tv, often there is no way to know what the song title or artist is. However I like some of the songs and either want to buy it on cd or download it off of file sharing program. Anyone know of a good way that you could find out what a popular song's name is without having to watch the music video for it? Maybe a website that has clips of most popular songs that helps in that manner?

I think 'shazam' has just landed here or is about to according to a mate, basically this is a British company (maybe American, dont know) and what you do is dial up their number on your cell and hold it in the air when a song is playing in a club/bar.....it lasts ten seconds then cuts you off, costing about a dollar, then it text messages you with the name of the song.......................................the one in britain is freakishly accurate, we tried to trick it with the most bizare tunes we could find and it still got them.............................the only prob i can see is that in korea it'll clearly text in korean so if you're not down with the old H script that could be a prob..............korea and shazam(bit unsure of the spelling) in google should get you some answers...............cya

Just talking about that today... as it is all in Korean and I presume that listening to stuff is only possible if you register, would anyone care to tell us how we can register if we can read but not greatly understand Korean?

Looks like a v useful site...

you need a korean id number to register...

you don't need to register (it has been a while since i used it last).. just type the artist or song in the box and hit enter..

it is a little confusing to get the song to play but it shouldn't take long for you to figure it out.

good luck

Well I tried to register with my K id number on my card (right?) but kept getting some error messages in Korean that were simply way too long for me to be bothered with but mentioning something about a date in April this year (perhaps a change of policy)

Typing in a song name I find that all but the lyrics icon is unclickable. i guess I have to register to listen now? ANyone know if this is the case?

okay I'll persevere...

BTW, I registered for cyworld using a not too dissimilar login asking for my k id number. It worked fine though others were surprised that I could do it.

Anyway... I'll try again without registering...

Bingo... the trick is to find bands that aren't mega famous. I was searching Beatles stuff and pretty much all of it is members only.

Listening to REM's older stuff at this moment...

Cheers... Cool

That's the easiest way. I have done that often, and it always works, provided you can remember the lines well enough.
