If the contract was written in both Korean and English, and there was a discrepancy, which version is binding? I need links to proof, not speculation.
Gracias |

My contract is written in both, but theres a clause saying that the Korean one is binding, and that the school can be held liable for any discrepancies between the two.
Check to see if there's anything like that in yours. |

This contract thing has become quite an affair. At first, the school offered to pay W30,00o per HOUR of overtime (a whole hour, rather than the usual 40 min.) I agreed. Then, today, the principal said, "Oh, we can only give you W20,000 per HOUR" at which time I pointed out that a) I'm only supposed to be teaching 40 min. classes and b) the English part of my contract stipulates that I should receive W22,000 per hour (actual teaching time: 40 min.).
Of course, bickering over W2,000 seems like making a mountain out of a mole hill, however, as we all know, once you bend a little it's only time before they attempt to break you. So I argued my case (with signed contract as proof).
So, their final offer: OK. You can teach only 40 min. and we'll give you W20,000. Great. Whatever. That's still breaking the contract I signed |
