a memo went up at work yesterday saying "ALL teachers and staff will receive a flu shot on october 1".
everything i've read is that the flu shot is only effective against 2 strains, and that the negative side effects outweigh the positive effects.
i talked to my support staff person and told him i don't want one and it looked like his head was going to explode... "does... not... compute..." but he made it sound like it was pretty mandatory.
i've never had a flu shot, and i haven't been sick in five years. does anyone know what strains of flu they've caught up with? is the flu shot even necessary?
does anyone know what the common flu shot med is in korea? |

From the CDC:
Q&A about the flu vaccine
Q&A about the flu shot
Who should get the flu shot.
Seems it's 70-90% effective, and if you're not allergic to chicken eggs or have some syndrome, it's perfectly safe.
If I were you, I'd just get it... |
