In one of my freshman English classes I have a father and his son. The father is huge, and is into body building. The son is average size, but it is fun to watch how they interact. I work out in a so so fashion at the gym, and the father happened to be there one day. i didn't recognize him, but he ecognized me and introduced himself. Now i am happy to help him in class in any way I can. he is a big dude. he does overhead triceps with a barbell with a 45 lb weight on each end.
The son ribs the father impatiently every now and then for not understanding what we are doing in the class, and it's an interesting experience trying to gear my teaching so that it doesn't show the father up too bad. He is always there, and i have a lot of respect for his physical condition, so I am very happy to make the class as understandable to him as i can. I am also aware that the son is probably anxious for his father not to screw up too. |

That would be a strange dynamic.
I know someone who does English lessons with a family in their home.
I have had an odd family of students: Daughter at 4 p.m., Son at 5 p.m. and Father at 7 p.m.....Why not all together for an hour? No wonder they have no family time with all their separate lessons. |
