Anyone ever been to this? I went last year, and it's a pretty good time... Day long Korean music thing, but some of the bands are actually semi-original. The best about this year's is that a VERY original band from Japan will be playing- Polysics! I have loved their stuff since I first came across it 3 or so years ago, and have always wanted to see them live... I found the festival poster, and they're actually coming here- yeeha! Anyways, it's on October 2nd at SungKyoonKwan University (in Suwon, I think) from 2 PM till around 11 PM...

Oh yeah, Tokyo Shock Boys are listed there too for a slot. Should be good times!

I went last year. Excellent. For the most part. The cheesy rock acts add some humour. 80's hair-rock never died here.

Actually it's on the Seoul campus of SungKyoonKwan University near Shinchon. Went to the festival twice--three and four years ago when they held it at Yonsei...saw some Japanese girl punk bands among other acts...the music is live and not that canned lip-synched crap...cost then 1000 won but not a bad outing. Thinking of going this year. Eamo...up for getting together to go?

Oh good, so it is still in Seoul.... Last year's fest did me the service of introducing "Rock Tiger" Hahaha... The guy had this huge Elvis hair, and there was some chick with "a voice like a cat" (my ex's words) wearing a poodle skirt and shrieking like a banshee... They were great. Loveholic played too, and seeing them live was worth the reasonably cheap admission price (cheaper than going to freakin' Ohoo...)

I'm telling you, Polysics will OWN this festival! Other groups at it are Lazybone (sorta ska-ish punk dudes with horns, opened for Offspring here), Joosuc (better than most K-hiphop, but still a little poserish), and Sugar Donut (completely forgot what they were, but remember they played last year and didn't entirely suck)...

... and if I'm lucky, Rock Tiger will make a surprise unscheduled appearance Cool

Ooops. SungKyoonKwan University is in Hyewa dong...not near Shinchon as I wrote earlier...my bad.

Not sure of the cost but a few years ago it was 1000 won and they gave you a small bottle of water and some canned fruit....it usually starts in the afternoon and goes on into the evening with each band playing only a couple of songs until the headliner plays at the end.

It went till 10:30-ish last year... They saved that time for all of the bigger (ie: Loveholic, Deli Spice, Nell) acts. Getting there around 6-ish would be alright, but I have NO CLUE when they're showing Tokyo Shock Boys or Polysics, so I'm showing up at two (besides, some of the afternoon Korean acts can be surprisingly entertaining)...

SO stoked about this tomorrow! I'll probably be the dork with the camcorder- for nothing except to get some live Polysics footage!

sounds worth a go, I guess I'll get off the subway at Hyewha and look at the local area map for this university.

BUT IF ALL THE BANDS ARE CRAP I'M COMING AFTER YOU LOT WITH A BIG BAT.
