Same boat here. I just got my F2-1 visa. Actually you don't need to do anything at all. Your spouse will have to do all the leg work. But all in all it is quite simple.
1. Prepare a notarized copy of your marriage certificate.
2. Your spouse will need to go to your local Dong office to prepare a statement of support. Basicly your spouse becomes your sponsor in Korea.
3. Together, go to your local immigration office (bring your passport).
4. Your spouse will need to answer a few questions for immigration.
Thats it. Took me and my wife about 20 minutes total. Very simple. You still need an E-2 visa to teach but it becomes your seconday Visa. Your F2-1 is your primary visa. The benefit to an F2-1 visa is you are no longer tied to a school you don't like. You don't even have to work. What I like about the F2-1 is it gives you freedom to switch jobs at any time without any visa runs, letters of release, etc. |

Go to the FAQ here, fourth (I think) sticky from the top--Korean relationship legal questions or something like that--and in that post there are a bunch of threads all about the F21. |

Did it last month too. Really easy. In addition to documents mentioned, bring your marriage certificates, home country and Korea both. |
