Last weekend I was in a taxi that hit 110 km/h on a surface street. That's as fast as the fastest speed limit in Canada I think.
Let's here your crazy taxi stories. |

Agraham, haven't you been on a Daegu bus yet? Face-pressed kissing of windows at 100km/hr and barely slowing for turns, beats any taxi experience. |

I was in a cab coming home from Kangnam when the cabbie decides he needs a smoke. Realizing he had none he stopped the car at the next family mart and got out and bought a pack. I was ready to give him hell when he came back. He got in the car and handed me a can of coke, bag of squid chips (gross) and a pack of cigarettes. I was amazed! I don't smoke so I gave him the smokes back and away we went. He even gave me a discount on the fare. (Rightfully so sinse I had to wait for him) I went from fuming mad to happily appeased and all it took was soda and chips. I'm so easy. |

My first teaching job in Daegu, one August morning I had a 6:30 am class. I left my apartment in Suseong-Gu, got in a cab, closed the door, told the cab driver my destination. Glanced at the clock on the dash. 6:14 am.
Car slams to a halt in front of my hogwan, downtown Daegu. I pay the cabbie in a daze, glance at the clock again.
6:17 am.
No traffic, green lights all the way. Halfway across Daegu in 3 minutes flat. |

I had that experience once in Jeju City. Was on the bus for 10 minutes and was ready to puke by the time I got off the bus. Suwon bus drivers are pretty nuts sometimes as well. |

Last november i woke up late with little more than an hour to catch my flight to Tokyo.
Ran out and grabbed a cab in Itaewon and told taxi driver BALI!!!
Besides a little traffic on the expressway around Yeoido for a few minutes, the taxi just flew (occasionaly slowing down in jolts for traffic cameras)
Managed to make the front door of Incheon Int Airport in approx 35 mins!
This was around 10am so he did pretty well!
Unfortually, it didnt matter as I missed check-in time by 15 minutes so I wasn't allowed fly out till the next day. |

110 kph is so slow. I had a taxi that took me from Hongdae to Yatap in Pundang in about 18 minutes and it was raining! It was a little scary. The guy got up to crazy speeds, maybe 120 or 140 on the freeway and it was pissing down with rain.
It was a bit mad but I've had hairier rides in se asia, at least Korean drivers dont take speed and drive. |

Goin' to the pingpong show with the taxi driver who was high on some sort of somethin' that I wish he'd swing my way, 'cause man that guy was flyin', and I don't mean in a speedin' kinda way. |

160 km/hr going along the Kuma expressway at 12:00am between Daegu and masan.
I told him to get me to Daegu as quick as he could from Chagwon. Took 40 minutes which i thought was great as i was pretty drunk.
If i had a been a little more sober i think i would have been shit scared. |
