I just got a small strange window that said my computer is infected with spyware, and do I want to remove it Yes or No.
I then scanned with Norton and nothing came up.
The window seemed like a virus as pop-ups are normally blocked by Norton, and this window wasn't a Norton window.
I trust Norton though.
Does Norton protect against the holes in Windows? |

Norton is an anti-virus scanner. What you need is a program that deals with spyware, adware, and malware.
Between Adaware, Spybot SE, and Spy Sweeper, I have never had problems that persisted for long. IMHO, these are the best out there, though, there are others like Pest Patrol, Bazooka, and Spy Hunter that do okay jobs as well.
My advice to you, get the first three programs that I mentionned above as well as Spyware Blaster. You can get all of these trial editions with their creator's sites.
Good luck!

Yeah, it came again. A small window that asks a question, and then if you click yes it opens up big. It opens as Spyblocs 2.0. Normally Norton blocks all pop-ups for me.

If you experience any of the following symptoms, you have Spyware on your PC.
Your browser homepage has been changed.
Excessive pop-up ads.
New toolbars in your browser.
PC is slow and applications do not start quickly.
Slow internet access speed.
Frequent PC crashes.
Frequent SPAM.
These symptoms may appear to be harmless or simply annoying, BUT THEY ARE NOT!
Spyware is designed to track and record your computer activities, including:
Emails you send to friends, co-workers and family.
Credit card purchases/bank account access.
Instant messenger chat.
Every picture you view.
Usernames and passwords.
Every keystroke you type.
All sites you visit.
If you conduct any of the following activity on the web - you have Spyware on your PC:
Use music download sites like KaZaA, GrokSter, iMesh and others.
Visit adult sites (or others who use your PC to visit adult sites)
Download free screensavers
Download freeware or shareware applications
Spend more than four hours online each week
Receive a lot of SPAM
In some instances, your employer, spouse or even a complete stranger may have installed a key-logger program (a type of Spyware) on your PC and may be secretly recording everything you do. |

What browser are you using?
If you are using MS internet explorer you might want to save yourself a bunch of headaches and get a mozilla browser.
Anyways good luck and let us know what happened. |

Could also be one of those Messenger pop-up ads; here is a link for that, & how to fix it:

As a broswer alternative, I also recommend NetCaptor:

(personally, I use Ad-aware, Spybot S&D, Pest Patrol & SpywareBlaster. For virtually spam-free e-mail, try EudoraMail)[/url] |
