Gyeongbokkung Palace
Inwangsan Mountain (lots of Buddhist temples and shamanist shrines), two stops north of Gyeongbokkung
DMZ
Shopping at Insadong, Dongdaemun, etc.
Ganghwado Island (dolmens and castles), easy busride from Seoul since it's connected by a bridge |

Just cuz I like your posts, and your avatar is as easy on my eyes as your posts in my brain, here's a couple:
Itaewon this weekend!
(WAIT!!! DON'T HURL YET!!!)
Unbeknownst to me, 2 events are coinciding perfectly for this:
1. Itaewon Global Village Festival 2004!!!
http://www.itaewon.go.kr/english/event/schedule.asp
This works out well for Friday and/or Saturday. But, Friday night, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend . . . .
2. The Slave Auction Party!!!
http://www.worknplay.co.kr/Entertainment/Nightlife/ViewEvent.aspx?viewSn=22
Sorry - I have no idea who will be on the blocks, except it ain't me this time around.
While in the area, you could always consider a trip to Chez Vous, as well:

Best of luck to you, & let me know if I win!
Regards,
Glen
ADDENDUM: Catch the Fireworks Show, with some fellow posters???

* Shows on the main stage at Arirang Public Parking Lot (18:00-22:00)
Where is that? The foreigner talent show could be funny. |

next to the Itaewon Crown Hotel.
I don't know what the prize is, but I think Beaver may be onto something. Maybe we could stop by his restaurant first!
Wash them hands, though . . . I imagine that sauce to be spaisssyy!
(edit: these last parts made much more sense BEFORE Beaver went & edited his post. Still might like that one - Christina too!)
Regards,
G.

treat her to some real korean culture...
every saturday afternoon there is a concert at the national centre for korean traditional performing arts (ǿ) just near the seoul arts centre.
i'll possibly be there myself this saturday.
their website is at http://www.ncktpa.go.kr |
