Does your video card have an AV output dongle? (that word still gives me a laugh, sorry!)
If your vid card can do AV output, it should have:
A) A yellow-rimmed RCA jack
B) A cable TV output connector
C) An S-VHS output,
or an included dongle with some of the above on it.
The dongle is the thing that plugs into the non-VGA connector on your card and has a flourish of other adapter ends on it. Sorry, I'm a little linguistically impaired just now.
If none of these options apply you can buy a video card that includes TV-out of some variety or you can buy
a card specifically for it. I'd opt for the new vid card. Sound out is usually via sound card output.

Even without the jacks you can still do it easily but you need an RCA converter like the one made by Aver. They have a whole line of them including the Aver Key Lite which is the most basic but very functional. In Korea, you can buy it here and it even comes with extension cords. From the first link, you can also see more of the higher end models with are actual converter modules. You can buy generic versions like them pretty much anywhere including technomart and Yongsan though to buy the 7-prong cord to attach it to your serial out will be more difficult to find. The joy of the Aver Key Lite is that it can actually run from a USB port... very convenient!
If you are running a newer HP system, you should also be able to use their preloaded software, called TV Now, to do this directly using an RCA out cord and sound from your earphone jack. |
