i have a sony vaio laptop only a year old... im not sure what model # but i dont think that should make a difference for this question... i want to get a new HD for my laptop... right now i have 2 HD's installed... i want about a 40-80 gig HD.... does anyone know a good place where i can get one with fast seek times??? also would it be easy enough to install myself or would i need to get it done for me?

In general what parts of a laptop are upgradeable.... i know you can buy more ram and HD but can the processor be upgraded as well?

Laptops are not easy to open up and pull apart. If you have no talent for that sort of thing, I'd avoid it. The idiot-proof way is to simply get an external drive.

If your laptop is like mine it has a little door that covers the harddrive. Remove one screw to get the door off, then tug on the plastic strap attached to the drive and badabing it's out. Then just slide the new one in it's place.
Of course it may not be like mine.
